About Briefed
Briefed is a Barrister-led compliance, training, and consultancy business supporting Barristers’ Chambers and law firms across the UK. Working with more than 150 chambers, Briefed provides specialist advice, training, and consultancy across areas including regulatory compliance, GDPR, cyber security, AI, equality and diversity, complaints handling, professional conduct, and pupillage.
As Briefed enters its next stage of growth, it is looking to appoint a senior Business Development individual to deepen its relationships across the Bar, develop new commercial opportunities, and help drive the continued growth of the business.
The Role
This is a senior, relationship-led business development position with responsibility for strengthening Briefed’s presence across the Bar and converting trusted relationships into sustainable commercial growth. The successful candidate will develop relationships with new and existing chambers, identify opportunities for Briefed’s services, and work closely with the senior leadership, sales, marketing, and consultancy teams to develop and convert opportunities.
The role will suit someone who understands that business development within the Bar is built through credibility, relationships, and a strong understanding of chambers rather than transactional selling. A significant part of the position will therefore be externally focused: meeting chambers, attending industry events, developing relationships with key decision-makers, and ensuring Briefed remains visible and relevant across the market.
Alongside new business development, the individual will help deepen Briefed’s relationships with its existing client base, identifying opportunities to expand relationships and ensuring Briefed continues to understand the evolving needs of chambers.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy across barristers’ chambers.
- Identify and prioritize chambers that do not currently work with Briefed.
- Build and manage a structured pipeline of prospective clients and commercial opportunities.
- Develop relationships with Chief Executives, Chambers Directors, Senior Clerks, Heads of Chambers, barristers, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify appropriate entry points for Briefed’s training, compliance, consultancy, audit, and pupillage services.
- Secure meetings and introductions for Briefed’s senior team and subject-matter specialists.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to progress opportunities from initial engagement through to conversion.
- Maintain a long-term approach to prospects where there is no immediate requirement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
