Head of Business Operations

Role: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Oxfordshire (Hybrid, 2-3 days a week onsite)
Salary: £70,000-£90,000
Start: ASAP
Clearance: Eligible for SC Security Clearance

F5 are delighted to be working with a global leader in the SpaceTech industry, who are looking to bring in a Head of Business Operations to directly support the C-Suite and their growing Business Operations team.

As the primary support to the Deputy Managing Director, you will bring structure, pace and clarity to Business Operations. This newly created role will help establish a more strategic function that enables the business, supports decision-making and removes operational friction as the company grows.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in business operations, programme delivery, process improvement or a similar cross-functional role within a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic priorities into practical plans, actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong track record of improving processes, streamlining workflows and implementing scalable ways of working.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders, providing clear recommendations, updates and delivery support.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple functions.
  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused, with sound judgement on balancing structure and agility.
  • Experience supporting governance, compliance or assurance activities in a proportionate, business-focused manner.
  • Experience leading operational change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication and adoption planning.
  • Ability to build buy-in for change and successfully embed new processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Current holder of, or eligible to obtain, UK SC Clearance.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, or other complex operational environments.
  • Experience improving operational processes, systems and digital tools, including ERP platforms.
  • Exposure to governance, compliance, quality, safety or management systems.
  • Experience working in growing organisations, helping to simplify, standardise and scale ways of working.
