Role: Head of Business Operations

Location: Hybrid (2–3 days per week on-site) – (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Norwich or Swindon)

Duration: 6 Months +

Role Type: Hybrid

Salary: Depending on experience

Overview:

The Client is looking for senior Business Operations / Business Integration professionals to act as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to a Director within the Government Property Agency. The role sits across several directorates including Strategy, Investment, Capital Projects, Workplace Services, Finance and COO, with successful candidates aligned to the area that best matches their experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience operating at senior strategic/managerial level, providing advice, challenge and decision support to senior stakeholders. They need to be comfortable working across organisational boundaries, connecting different areas of a complex organisation, resolving ambiguous or sensitive issues, and influencing senior stakeholders without direct line management authority.

  • Senior Business Integrator / Business Manager / Head of Business Operations / Head of Office / Chief of Staff / Strategic Advisor type backgrounds.
  • Experience advising and influencing Directors, Executives or other senior stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business planning and operational management experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, workforce planning, governance and operational processes.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and developing support staff.
  • Strong understanding of how complex organisations operate, ideally within Government/Civil Service or another large, highly governed environment.
  • Strong digital capability, particularly practical use of AI tools/agents, CRM systems, collaboration platforms and automation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, including diary management, meeting coordination, commissions and briefing preparation.
