About Great Wines Direct (GWD)

Great Wines Direct (GWD) curates and supplies exceptional wines from small, family-run estates. We’re an omni-channel business, selling across HoReCa, multiples, cash & carry, luxury travel and duty free. We’re growing fast, and we’re hiring a Head of BWS (Trade) to lead the charge.

If you’ve got a real love of wine, a trade 'black book' you can call tomorrow, and the drive to build something properly… this is for you.

The Role

You’ll own BWS trade growth end-to-end: opening doors, expanding existing accounts, and bringing our exclusive portfolio to the right partners across the UK. You’ll have full support from the team, but you’ll be the person who makes the numbers move.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Trade revenue and margin are clearly up, with measurable wins.
  • You’ve expanded current deals (more listings, better placements, stronger reorder cadence).
  • You’ve landed new accounts across HoReCa, multiples, cash & carry, luxury travel and related channels.
  • You’ve built a reliable pipeline and a repeatable approach to prospecting, pitching and closing.
  • You’re known as the person who can sell brilliant wine, brilliantly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
