About us

Fire Fighters Charity supports the health and wellbeing of the UK fire services community. We provide healthcare, wellbeing and practical support through our three centres, online and with specialist partners.

We have a national footprint and we are growing and changing fast. After our best year ever in 2025/26, we have a new strategy, a new brand and ambitious plans to reach many more people.

To achieve that, more people need to know who we are, what we do and how to get involved. That is where you come in.

Why join us?

This is a great time to join our talented Fundraising & Engagement colleagues at Fire Fighters Charity as Head of Campaigns & Marketing Communications - at a point when marketing and communications can make a very visible difference to our reach, our income and the number of people we support.

We have a powerful story to tell. Now we need to make sure more people hear it, understand it and know how they can engage with us.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Engagement, this is a broad and influential role, combining strategic marketing, integrated campaigns, brand, digital communications, storytelling, media and internal and external communications.

You will shape how people see, understand and experience us. You will also build a marketing and communications function that is creative, ambitious, audience-led and commercially disciplined.

You will have the autonomy to make a real difference, working with talented colleagues across fundraising, engagement, services and the wider organisation.

The opportunity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Marketing is at the heart of this role. We need someone who understands audiences, behaviour, propositions, channels, campaigns and conversion - and who can bring together creativity and commercial discipline to make our brand work harder for the health and wellbeing of the UK fire services community and their families.

You will lead our marketing and communications, managing a team of talented people across marketing, campaigns, digital, storytelling, website, media and communications.

You will develop and deliver an ambitious, insight-led marketing strategy that increases awareness, drives engagement and action, supports fundraising and income generation, and ultimately helps more people access our services.

You will lead integrated, multi-channel campaigns that turn awareness into action. You will bring together paid, owned and earned channels, using audience insight, creativity and data to reach the people who need us and the people who support us.

Alongside this, you will provide strategic leadership for storytelling, media and external communications, internal communications and reputation management.

You will lead our brand, digital and social media strategy, making sure our website and digital channels reach and engage priority audiences. You will use social media not simply as a publishing channel, but as a powerful way to build communities, amplify the voices of those who serve and have served, tell their stories and drive action in support of their health and wellbeing, now more than ever.

Could you help us reach more people, tell better stories and give the fire services community the care their courage deserves?
