Head of Public Funding / Strategic Funding Partner
My client is seeking an exceptional senior funding professional or strategic funding partner to secure £20M-£30M in non-dilutive and matching UK and EU government capital, from an identified funding landscape of £100M+ across relevant regional and innovation funding pools.
This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced public funding specialist with a proven track record of securing significant government-backed capital. The engagement can be structured as a senior permanent appointment, retained consultancy, or strategic agency partnership, depending on experience and capability.
The Opportunity
The successful individual or partner will take ownership of the funding strategy and execution, identifying, prioritising and converting suitable UK and EU funding opportunities into substantial capital awards.
Funding may include grants, matched equity and public debt instruments, with the objective of securing £20M-£30M to support the client's ambitious growth and development plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
