Wienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Category - Wall UK & Ireland to lead one of the most important categories within our business.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will define and execute the long-term category strategy, drive profitable growth, and ensure we continue to deliver market-leading solutions for our customers.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D and senior business stakeholders to shape the future of the category. You will be responsible for establishing a clear growth roadmap, leading innovation activity, and ensuring the portfolio delivers sustainable revenue, margin and market share growth.

As the category leader, you will identify new market opportunities, guide investment decisions, and bring the voice of the customer into everything we do. You will also lead and develop a team of Product Managers, building the capability needed to support our long-term ambitions.

What You'll Be Doing

Category Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and deliver the category vision and growth strategy
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue, profitability and market share
  • Define target markets, customer segments and value propositions
  • Align category plans with business strategy and manufacturing capabilities
  • Build a pipeline of future growth opportunities through innovation and market development

Commercial Leadership

  • Own and drive category performance together with Commercial director and commercial team
  • Support annual planning, forecasting and performance reviews
  • Define category pricing and positioning strategies
  • Ensure the category remains competitive and creates value for customers and the business

Innovation & Portfolio Management

  • Lead the category innovation roadmap and new product pipeline
  • Identify emerging market trends and customer needs
  • Drive portfolio optimisation and lifecycle management
  • Support the successful launch of new products and solutions
  • Ensure investments are prioritised towards the most attractive growth opportunities

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the Category team
  • Build strong relationships across commercial, operational and technical functions
  • Engage with key customers, industry bodies and external partners
  • Influence senior stakeholders and help shape strategic business decisions

Hours of Work: 9am to 5pm. Monday to Friday

This is a regional role which requires regular travel across the UK and some international travel. A company car/allowance is provided.

You will visit the head office in Cheadle regularly so you will be based in a suitable location to commute easily to Cheadle.

About You

You are a commercially minded category, product management or marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with a passion for innovation and customer value.

You will ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in Category Management, Product Management or a related commercial leadership role
  • Construction, building materials or relevant B2B manufacturing experience
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience developing and delivering category or portfolio growth strategies
  • A proven track record of launching and growing successful products and solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • The ability to translate market insight into commercially successful action
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing others
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland
