Role Description

The Head of Client Solutions – Intermediate Care Pathway is a full-time, on-site role based in London (Shoreditch). This role leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of intermediate care pathways, working closely with NHS and other health and social care partners to create integrated, patient-focused solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with clients to understand service requirements, developing tailored care models, overseeing implementation, and monitoring performance against quality, safety, and outcome metrics. The role also involves managing and guiding multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with internal operations and clinical leads, and supporting business development activities by contributing to proposals, presentations, and service tenders. The Head of Client Solutions ensures that services remain compliant, efficient, and aligned with best practice in transitional and complex care.

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Client Solutions – Intermediate Care Pathways will lead the development and growth of Airmid Staffing’s intermediate care, Urgent Community Response (UCR), discharge and community-based service solutions. Drawing on strong NHS intermediate care experience, the post holder will act as Airmid Staffing’s subject matter expert, build trusted relationships with NHS and Local Authority partners, and translate operational pressures into safe, practical and commercially sustainable solutions. The role is accountable for helping bridge the gap between health and social care, supporting delivery of Airmid Staffing’s growth forecast and expanding the organisation’s presence across intermediate care pathways.

Key Accountabilities

  • Client Solution Development
    • Work collaboratively with NHS and Local Authority clients to understand pathway pressures, capacity gaps, workforce challenges and desired outcomes.
    • Design bespoke solutions for UCR, intermediate care, discharge to assess, reablement, admission avoidance, community rehabilitation, virtual wards and hospital-at-home pathways.
    • Translate client requirements into clear service models, workforce plans, implementation plans, pricing assumptions, governance arrangements and measurable outcomes.
    • Prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, business cases and mobilisation plans.
    • Ensure proposed solutions are deliverable, clinically safe, operationally realistic and commercially viable.

Essential

  • Significant leadership or senior operational experience within NHS community services.
  • Direct experience of Urgent Community Response, intermediate care, discharge, admission avoidance or community rehabilitation pathways.
  • Strong understanding of NHS operational pressures, commissioning arrangements and integrated care systems.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Local Authorities and adult social care services.
  • Demonstrable experience of service redesign, pathway development or mobilisation.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence senior clinical, operational and commissioning stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness, including the ability to develop viable solutions, proposals and forecasts.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and travel nationally when required.

Desirable

  • Experience within healthcare staffing, an independent care provider or a managed service environment.
  • Knowledge of NHS and Local Authority procurement routes and framework agreements.
  • Understanding of CQC-regulated community care and clinical governance requirements.
  • Experience developing business cases, tender responses or outcome-based service models.
  • Relevant clinical, operational, project management or leadership qualification.
