Make an Impact at RSM UK

Lead the strategy, architecture and delivery of RSM's cloud, platform engineering and modern workplace capabilities.

You will establish and lead a new function responsible for driving the strategy for our estate to/in the Azure cloud and across Microsoft 365, collaboration services, platform engineering, end-user computing and workplace technology. The role will define the future technology landscape, create reusable platform services that enable innovation across the firm and deliver the roadmap required to modernise RSM's technology foundations and workplace technologies.

You will make an impact by

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and deliver the cloud and platform engineering strategy in alignment with the broader technology strategy
  • Establish the roadmap for cloud, workplace technology and collaboration platforms.
  • Act as the technical lead for platform transformation and infrastructure modernisation.
  • Advise the CIO and Technology Leadership Team on future technologies, opportunities and risks.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

  • Lead RSM's transition towards a cloud-first operating model.
  • Build and mature a platform engineering capability that provides reusable services, standards and guardrails.
  • Establish cloud governance, automation, infrastructure-as-code and platform standards.
  • Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, resilient and cost effective.

Modern Workplace

  • Own the strategy for Microsoft 365, collaboration services, devices and workplace technology.
  • Define the future workplace experience, including M365, Copilot, identity, endpoint management and collaboration platforms.
  • Improve colleague productivity through the effective use of modern workplace technologies.

Collaboration with Key Teams

  • Work closely with Architecture, Cyber Security and Operations teams to define technology standards.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, supportable and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Engage with our infrastructure outsource services provider, Microland, to drive change and ensure that all solutions are appropriately supported.
  • Maintain ownership of platform cost efficiency, risk, resilience and technical debt.

Delivery & Adoption

  • Work with internal teams, service lines and suppliers to introduce new capabilities.
  • Ensure new services transition successfully into operational support.

Team & Supplier Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud, platform and workplace specialists.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Microsoft, Microland and other strategic suppliers.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on enabling the business.

  • Broad understanding of workplace technologies.
  • Experience leading technology transformation programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing suppliers and outsourced service partners.
