🚀 Head of Cloud Engineering | Remote UK | Circa £100k
I'm working with a growing UK Cloud & Managed Services provider that's making significant investment into its next-generation Sovereign and Hybrid Cloud platform.
They're looking for a Head of Cloud Engineering to take end-to-end ownership across Cloud Engineering, Networks and the wider technology platform.
This is a proper engineering leadership role, with responsibility for both the strategy and the underlying platforms. A major focus is the transition towards open-source, cloud-native infrastructure, including Canonical OpenStack, Ubuntu and Kubernetes, alongside public/hybrid cloud environments.
The role will include:
- Leading Cloud Engineering and Network teams
- Ownership of multi-tenant, customer-facing cloud platforms
- Driving adoption of OpenStack, Ubuntu, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
- Network and multi-datacentre infrastructure strategy
- Automation, IaC, CI/CD and DevOps tooling
- Monitoring, observability and platform resilience
- Security, compliance, DR, SLAs and operational performance
- Strategic vendor and technology partner management
- Supporting Product, Sales and customers on complex cloud solutions
- Building a high-performing, automation-first engineering culture

I'm particularly interested in speaking with people who have:
- Led Cloud, Platform, Infrastructure and/or Network Engineering teams
- Experience within an MSP, Cloud Provider, ISP or wider Service Provider environment
- Strong Linux/open-source infrastructure knowledge
- OpenStack experience, ideally including Canonical or Red Hat OpenStack
- Strong networking knowledge across WAN, datacentre and cloud environments
- Experience operating highly available, customer-facing platforms in a 24x7 environment
- A strong background in automation, operational excellence and engineering transformation

Remote, UK with occasional travel
Circa £100,000 + package
