Head of Commercial

Are you a strategic commercial leader looking to make a real impact in a critical infrastructure sector? We are seeking a Head of Commercial to lead and shape our commercial function, driving performance, value, and growth across a dynamic portfolio of projects within the water industry.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Oversee all commercial and contractual activity
  • Ensure robust governance, effective risk management, and strong financial performance
  • Work closely with senior leadership to define and deliver commercial strategy
  • Support work-winning activities and ensure successful project delivery from tender through to completion
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Build strong client and supply chain relationships
  • Embed a culture of commercial excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the business

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role within infrastructure, utilities, or the water sector
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management, contract law, and NEC contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • Track record of delivering profitable outcomes while effectively managing risk
  • Experience working in regulated environments with an understanding of industry frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
