Head of Commercial (Sales/Manager)

Monday to Friday 37.5 Hours per Week
Head of Commercial required for an industry leading provider of laboratory equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable company with a 30-year history at an exciting time of growth as they launch new products and look to broaden their customer base.
This role would suit candidates with experience in a senior sales or commercial leadership role, ideally from a technical or highly regulated industry background. You will have proven new business development experience and a strong understanding of pricing, margins, and recurring revenue models.

Reporting to the company's General Manager and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the successful Head of Commercial will lead the company's sales and marketing functions, building new routes to market and launching new products. The position will initially be very hands-on focused to generate new business opportunities, with a long-term direction to oversee and manage a larger commercial team.
The Head Of Commercial Role
- Broaden the company's customer base, particularly with a focus on life science companies within the private sector
- Hands-on delivery of sales targets for new customers and new business with existing customers: leading from the front to prospect and close deals
- Oversee and build the commercial team
- Identify and contract international distributors and resellers
- Own go-to-market plans for new products and define product positioning
- Development of marketing plans in line with commercial goals and management of the company's marketing partner
- Final review and oversight of tenders and proposals, including public sector procurement frameworks
- Remote working: monthly travel to the company's Cheshire office
