Head of Commercial

A client-facing, team-managing, Head of Commercial with experience of working on retail or banking refurbishments, is required for a market-leading group of construction companies.

The organisation has an enviable list of brand names amongst its client-base and the Head of Commercial will join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality refurbishments in the banking sector. The projects will be a mix of retail sites and regional/head offices. The Head of Commercial will manage a team of Quantity Surveyors who will look after projects across the country.

This opportunity has arisen, due to the continued success and growth of the business and it is an exciting time to be joining the organisation, particularly in this team. Suitable candidates will be able to point to impressive CVs, detailing the projects that they have helped to deliver and teams that they have managed. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, for, as stated, this role is very client-facing and is team-managing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
