We're looking for a Head of Commercial Enablement to help shape the future of our commercial performance by creating the tools, insight, governance and ways of working that enable our buying teams to make brilliant commercial decisions.
About the role
This is a highly influential leadership role that partners closely with our Heads of Category and Commercial leadership team to drive sustainable cash margin improvement, stronger customer value and greater commercial effectiveness.
You'll lead pricing and promotions, trade planning, commercial insight and commercial excellence initiatives, bringing together data, processes and people to enable better decision-making across the business.
Acting as a key cross-functional partner, you'll work closely with Commercial, Finance, Digital, Data, Operations and Supply Chain teams to create practical solutions that improve business performance and strengthen commercial capability.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the Pricing & Promotions team, trade planning activity and centralised support for CPI management and Better Buying initiatives.
- Define and embed pricing, CPI and promotional strategies, supported by clear governance and consistent execution.
- Improve promotional effectiveness through stronger planning, review processes and a focus on customer value and commercial return.
- Reinvigorate the omni-channel trade planning process through clear quarterly planning and effective use of space as a commercial lever.
- Equip teams with better tools, insight and commodity tracking to proactively manage cost pressures and margin risks.
- Identify and drive opportunities for sustainable COGS reduction and support buying teams to deliver stronger supplier outcomes.
- Lead and embed the Commercial Excellence programme, ensuring it becomes a sustainable way of working across the Commercial function.
- Create frameworks, governance and decision-making tools that improve commercial discipline and capability across buying teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
