Join one of the UK’s fastest-growing chilled food manufacturing businesses and play a leading role in shaping commercial performance across a £1bn+ chilled food manufacturing organisation.
About The Compleat Food Group
The Compleat Food Group is one of the UK's fastest-growing PE-backed chilled food manufacturing companies. We are looking for a commercially astute, highly influential Head of Commercial Finance to join a fast-paced, multi-site food group with scale, high ambition, and momentum. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who has already operated at Head of level within a large, complex business — or for an exceptional Commercial Finance Controller or Senior Finance Manager ready to step into a broader, senior, more strategic role.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact commercial finance leadership role with genuine visibility across the business. You will lead the commercial financial agenda across sales, marketing, category, revenue growth management, and customer investment, ensuring commercial decisions are underpinned by robust financial insight and aligned to long-term strategic objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a senior finance partner to the Commercial, Marketing, Category, and Revenue Growth Management teams, providing strategic insight, challenge, and support.
- Lead commercial financial performance across key customer channels, including grocery, convenience, wholesale, foodservice, export, and e-commerce.
- Shape customer negotiations, Joint Business Plans, pricing decisions, and promotional investment through robust financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Drive customer, brand, and portfolio profitability reviews, identifying opportunities to improve mix, margin, return on investment, and sustainable growth.
- Lead the commercial finance input into budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and Integrated Business Planning cycles.
- Strengthen financial governance across trade terms, customer investment, promotional funding, and commercial expenditure.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve planning discipline, forecast credibility, data quality, reporting, and decision-making.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Commercial Finance team, building capability, accountability, and succession strength.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
