Growth doesn't wait for perfect processes and neither does an IPO. This multi-entity group is going through exactly that process right now, and it needs someone at the top of finance who can bring pace, discipline and real control to a business moving fast on several fronts at once.

You'd take full ownership of finance across the group's trading entities, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director with plenty of exposure to the CFO. That means leading the team, running a genuinely disciplined monthly close, and producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts that the leadership team and the wider group can actually rely on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Statutory accounts, audit, VAT, AP/AR controls: all of it sits with you too.

It's a hands-on seat. You'll be reviewing your team's work before it goes anywhere, giving straight commercial insight to department heads, and making sure things get closed out rather than left open, especially when a decision is sitting on the number.

What you'll bring:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, with real experience running a finance function across multiple entities
  • A track record of disciplined month-end close, delivered to deadline, every time
  • Solid statutory accounts and audit experience (UK GAAP / IFRS)
  • VAT and wider tax compliance exposure
  • Excel and modelling skills strong enough to build it yourself and defend every number in it
  • The ability to turn data into something a non-finance person can act on
  • Comfort working at pace, under pressure, with priorities that shift
