Head of Commercial Finance

West Surrey | 3 Days in the Office | £100,000 + 10% Bonus

This is a seriously exciting opportunity for someone who loves commercial finance, data, and multi-site businesses.

Apply and let me tell you all about it.

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, highly successful UK business operating across a significant number of locations nationally.

They’re investing heavily in their commercial finance capability and are now looking for a brilliant Head of Commercial Finance to help build something genuinely best-in-class.

This isn't a role where you're inheriting a finished function. There is lots to build.

You'll lead a team of four Finance Business Partners and work closely with an excellent Commercial Finance Director and senior operational leadership team.

The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for commercial finance and business partnering across a large, complex, multi-site operation.

You'll:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Finance Business Partners
  • Build a genuinely commercial and proactive business partnering function
  • Partner closely with senior operational leaders
  • Get underneath the P&L performance of individual locations
  • Understand what is driving revenue, labor, costs, margin, and profitability
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and commercial opportunities
  • Turn large amounts of operational and financial data into clear actions
  • Improve the quality and consistency of business partnering across the organization
  • Challenge operational teams and help them make better commercial decisions
  • Help build better KPIs, reporting, and performance management
  • Create a finance function that doesn't just report numbers, but genuinely influences performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Who Are We Looking For?

Multi-site experience is really important.

We want someone who understands the dynamics of running a business across hundreds of individual locations.

That could come from:

  • Hospitality. Restaurants. Leisure. Entertainment. Retail. Gyms. Hotels. Healthcare. Travel. Consumer services.

Essentially, somewhere you've had to understand and improve the performance of lots of individual sites, branches, venues, or locations.

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong commercial finance or Finance Business Partnering experience. Strong academics and a track record of growth and stability is important.

But we're looking for more than someone technically good.

We want someone who is:

  • Curious. Commercial. People-centric. Data-driven.
  • Someone who asks why.
  • Someone who loves getting underneath performance.
  • Someone who can spot something interesting in the data and then go and talk to the business about it.

You'll need to be comfortable challenging senior people, developing a team, and operating in a fast-paced environment where there is still plenty to build and improve.

Why Join?

Because this is a chance to build. The business is growing, the leadership team is ambitious, and there is a genuine appetite to make commercial finance increasingly influential.

You'll have an excellent manager, a team to develop, and huge amounts of operational data to work with.

For someone who loves multi-site commercial finance and wants to create a genuinely high-performing business partnering function, this could be a brilliant move.
