Head of Commercial Finance | Private Equity, Technology / Telecoms / Managed Services
Remuneration | £100-£120k + bonus. Location | London, permanent full-time position (hybrid; 2 days office per week).
The Opportunity
A leading Private Equity-backed provider of cloud communications, managed services, and telecoms solutions is seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial Finance to join the business at a pivotal stage in its evolution.
With approximately £75m revenue and £10m EBITDA, the company has successfully built scale through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, establishing a strong position within the UK technology and communications market. Having completed the majority of its acquisition-led growth journey, the focus has now shifted towards platform optimisation, operational excellence, and sustainable value creation.
Against this backdrop, the business is seeking a hands-on commercial finance leader capable of improving commercial performance, strengthening financial discipline, and helping maximise returns from its existing customer base, product portfolio, and operating platform.
The Role
Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, the Head of Commercial Finance will play a central role in driving commercial performance across the organisation.
This is not a traditional FP&A, transformation, or Finance Business Partner role. Instead, the successful candidate will act as the commercial finance lead for the business, focused on improving billing accuracy, revenue assurance, pricing discipline, customer profitability, and forecasting reliability.
Working closely with Go-To-Market (GTM), Revenue Operations, FP&A, Financial Control, and operational leadership teams, the role will provide commercial challenge, financial rigour, and actionable insight to improve decision-making and support value creation objectives. Sitting at the centre of commercial decision-making, the individual will help establish greater visibility of performance drivers, improve margin management, and ensure commercial insight is embedded into planning and operational processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing Accuracy & Revenue Assurance
- Develop a detailed understanding of customer contracts, pricing structures, discounting frameworks, and billing processes.
- Identify sources of revenue leakage, billing inaccuracies, and margin erosion.
- Improve visibility and governance around revenue quality and contract profitability.
- Partner with Revenue Operations to strengthen billing accuracy and predictability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
