IN A NUTSHELL
The Head of Commercial Finance leads commercial finance business partnering, FP&A and business intelligence across Bulk™. Reporting to the CFO, you'll play a key role in supporting stakeholders across all channels and functions with informed, analytical insights and timely reporting, while leading the budgeting and re-forecasting processes. We're looking for a commercially-minded finance leader who can bridge the gap between accounting information, data-led analysis and business decision-making. You'll gain exposure to key stakeholders as part of the leadership team, taking ownership of short and long-range financial planning, evaluating investment opportunities, and driving the team to hit targets through proactive challenge and insight.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Functional Leadership
- Define best practice FP&A and business partnering for proactive, strategic decision making and insight in a high-growth, dynamic multichannel business
- Lead and mentor, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Communicate financial performance, driving transparency and informed decision-making
- Evolve business intelligence, enabling the business to take quick, informed decisions based on accurate data
Commercial Finance
- Evaluate and assess investment opportunities, providing financial insights to support strategic initiatives
- Develop financial models (P&L, BS, CF) to plan and forecast the business at channel level on an annual and three-year basis
- Have end-to-end ownership of annual business planning cycles, including quarterly re-forecasts
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, scope them and offer advice and guidance to the relevant stakeholders
- Lead the business, in reporting and financial BI, ensuring that key stakeholders are well informed with pertinent, timely, accurate reports
- Build and develop an automation first commercial finance function, deploying AI to accelerate variance commentary, business-case interrogation and scenario modelling

Business Intelligence
- Run and maintain a BI tech stack that is timely, accurate and delivers data / data insights that are easily available and understood
- Build a robust data pipeline, with clearly documented, ETLs, processes and metrics to ensure high uptime, accuracy and governance
Stakeholder Management
- Work with the board and SLT to support profitable growth targets, driving top line initiatives and P&L efficiency opportunities
- Drive the SLT to hit or exceed their targets through proactive, constructive challenge and data insight
- Provide an external perspective on the business, management long term forecast and valuation models, including monitoring competitive set KPIs
- Lead the business in ensuring a high level of adherence to financial forecasts, clearly articulating risks and opportunities to the CEO/CFO and wider board
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor's degree (candidates without a degree but with exceptional experience will also be considered)
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- 5+ years' post-qualification experience in finance, tax or a related analytical field
- Skilled in performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools
- Strong track record analysing and reporting on financial results
- Proven ability to apply key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analysis
- Demonstrated success building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Track record of driving process improvements through automation and analysis
- Has directly managed and led a team
- Comfortable and confident working with senior stakeholders (e.g., C-suite)
Desirable qualifications:
- MBA
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
- Experience in recruiting, hiring and developing talent
- Track record of leading continuous improvement projects to scale and strengthen controllership, with measurable results
- Skilled in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, diagnosing root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans
- Has mentored junior finance or business team members

HYBRID: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
