Head of Commercial Finance

Hertfordshire
£110k + Car Allowance, Bonus & Benefits

We are partnering with a leading international business to recruit an experienced Head of Commercial Finance. This is a high-profile leadership role supporting a major blue-chip customer account while driving commercial performance, strategic decision-making and business improvement across the wider UK & Ireland operation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, providing commercial insight, financial leadership and strategic support within a fast-paced, complex environment.

The Role

  • Leading and developing a high-performing commercial finance team across multiple UK and Ireland locations.
  • Acting as the financial lead for a major strategic customer contract, ensuring strong commercial performance and profitability.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge and support business decision-making.
  • Delivering budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and performance review processes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and internal leadership teams.
  • Driving operational efficiencies and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Supporting commercial negotiations and customer initiatives.
  • Developing reporting, controls and financial processes to enhance business performance and governance.
  • Deputising for the Finance Director when required.

About You

We are looking for a commercially focused qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualified experience gained within a large, complex and fast-moving organisation.

  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience.
  • Experience working with large corporate customers or contracts.
  • A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic decision-making.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching and developing finance teams.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and performance analysis.
  • Strong systems skills and experience improving reporting and financial processes.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, retail or a similarly operational environment would be highly advantageous.
