Head of Commercial Growth

Location: Fully remote within the UK, with some UK and international travel

Level: Senior Leadership Team

The Three Essentials

To be considered for this role, you must bring three things:

  • Deep Amazon marketplace expertise.
  • Proven commercial ownership within an agency or consultancy.
  • Strong leadership experience.

About the Agency

An established specialist Amazon and retail consultancy working with ambitious consumer brands to grow profitable and sustainable businesses across Amazon and the wider retail landscape.

The agency has grown rapidly by combining deep Amazon expertise with genuine brand side commercial experience. The team works with household names and global brands across strategy, retail, advertising, Vendor Central, market expansion, licensing and full service Amazon management.

The business is now entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a senior commercial leader who can grow client relationships, strengthen profitability, develop its people and help create an organisation capable of scaling without compromising the quality of its work.

The Opportunity

The Director of Commercial Growth will be a key member of the senior leadership team and will work closely with the Founder and CEO.

This is a broad commercial leadership role with responsibility for client growth, retention, profitability, operational efficiency and leadership across the client services organisation.

The Founder will continue to lead new business growth, marketing and strategic relationships. Your role begins with turning those opportunities into long term commercial value.

You will ensure the agency retains great clients, grows existing relationships, operates profitably and continues developing the structure, people and processes required for its next stage.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. You will be equally comfortable discussing a client’s growth strategy with a senior leadership team, reviewing commercial performance across the portfolio, challenging how resources are being deployed and developing the people responsible for delivering the work.

What You Will Own

Client Growth and Retention

  • You will own the commercial performance of the agency’s existing client portfolio.
  • Develop and execute client growth and retention strategies across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional markets, services and strategic support.
  • Build structured account growth plans for key clients.
  • Maintain senior relationships with strategically important clients.
  • Lead or support significant renewals, commercial conversations and expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure client risks are identified early and managed effectively.
  • Help position the agency as a strategic commercial partner rather than simply an Amazon execution agency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Commercial Performance and Profitability

  • Growth needs to be profitable.
  • You will have strong visibility across revenue, margin, resources and client profitability, working closely with the Founder to continually improve the agency’s commercial performance.
  • This will include:
    • Owning client and portfolio profitability.
    • Improving visibility across revenue, margin, resource allocation and over servicing.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and ways of working.
    • Using technology, automation and AI to remove unnecessary manual activity.
    • Supporting forecasting, capacity planning and investment decisions.
    • Ensuring the agency’s most experienced people are focused on the work where they create the greatest value.

Leadership

  • You will lead through other senior people rather than becoming another layer of day to day account management.
  • You will:
    • Lead and develop the client services leadership team.
    • Create clear accountability across client delivery.
    • Establish strong management rhythms around client health, performance, capacity and commercial opportunity.
    • Coach senior team members while holding them accountable for outcomes.
    • Build an environment where problems are identified and resolved early.
    • Make considered decisions around structure, resources and capability as the business grows.
    • Help develop a leadership team capable of running an increasingly sophisticated organisation.

Building the Agency’s Next Stage

  • The agency does not believe that scaling simply means adding more clients, more people and more layers.
  • A significant part of this role will therefore be helping determine how the agency scales intelligently.
  • You will work alongside the Founder to:
    • Develop and commercialise new services and propositions.
    • Expand higher value strategic and advisory relationships.
    • Productise areas of the agency’s expertise where appropriate.
    • Grow specialist capabilities across areas such as Vendor consulting, retail strategy, strategic audits, DSP and emerging commerce opportunities.
    • Identify opportunities to increase revenue from the agency’s existing expertise and client base.
    • Build an operating model capable of supporting the business’s longer term growth ambitions.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced commercial leader from the Amazon, retail media, marketplace, ecommerce or agency ecosystem.

You are likely to have:

  • Significant experience leading teams within an agency, consultancy, marketplace or ecommerce environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon and its commercial ecosystem.
  • Experience growing significant existing client relationships.
  • Commercial responsibility for revenue, margin, forecasting or P&L.
  • Experience leading senior client services or delivery teams.
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify opportunities beyond an existing scope of work.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders within consumer brands.
  • A track record of improving structures, processes and ways of working as organisations scale.
  • Confidence using data to make commercial and operational decisions.
  • A genuine interest in how AI and automation can improve both client outcomes and agency efficiency.
  • Experience spanning more than one side of the ecosystem, for example Amazon, agency or brand side, would be particularly valuable.

Why Join?

The agency has reached an exciting point in its growth.

It has an established client base, deep Amazon expertise, a growing team and a strong reputation for understanding the commercial realities behind Amazon rather than simply the platform itself.

The next challenge is to turn that expertise into a larger, more scalable and increasingly valuable business.

For the right person, this role offers significant scope to shape how that happens and to grow with the business as the remit evolves.
