We are looking for a Head of Commercial Growth to join our team.

Role summary

The Head of Commercial Growth – UK is responsible for expanding Kaplan Assessments’ UK market presence, developing a strong qualified pipeline and delivering sustainable, profitable revenue growth across the United Kingdom.

You will combine substantial commercial experience with deep assessment expertise to understand client needs, shape technically credible and operationally deliverable solutions, and lead opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award and transition into delivery.

As the Head of Commercial Growth UK, you will:

  • Develop and deliver a focused market growth plan with clear pipeline, revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify, qualify and secure complex opportunities for assessment, qualification, certification and credentialing solutions.
  • Apply deep assessment expertise to diagnose client needs and shape technically credible solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, technical specialists and strategic partners.
  • Lead proposition development, bids, pricing, negotiation and commercial governance through to contract signature.
  • Coordinate colleagues across Kaplan to ensure solutions are commercially viable, high quality and operationally deliverable.

What you’ll bring to the role

This role will suit an experienced commercial leader who combines a strong record of winning complex business with substantial practical assessment expertise.

Essential

  • Proven success in owning revenue and margin targets, generating and winning complex new business, and progressing opportunities from initial engagement to signed contract.
  • Substantial practical experience in assessment, qualifications, certification or credentialing, with a strong understanding of assessment design and development, including validity, reliability and quality assurance.
  • The seniority, authority and credibility to lead technical and commercial discussions with senior institutional stakeholders, decision-makers, project boards and assessment specialists.
  • Experience applying assessment expertise in client, consultancy, advisory or solution-development contexts.
  • Experience conducting diagnostics, consultations, workshops and structured needs analysis and translating findings into commercially viable solutions.
  • Experience qualifying opportunities and making evidence-based commercial decisions based on strategic fit, client commitment, funding, procurement route, delivery feasibility, margin and risk.
  • Experience developing propositions that combine multiple products, services, partners or organisational teams, with a clear commercial model and route to repeat or scaled revenue.
  • Strong proposal, bid, business-case, pricing, negotiation, account-planning and opportunity-management skills.
  • Experience building senior stakeholder relationships and working effectively across organisational and professional boundaries.
  • The ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities and sustain momentum across long and complex commercial cycles while collaborating effectively across a matrix organisation.
