Head of Commercial & Pre-Construction – Bespoke Joinery
Nottinghamshire-based with regular travel to London

Our client is an established, highly regarded specialist contractor delivering exceptional bespoke interiors and joinery installations across the super-prime residential, luxury hospitality, and high-end commercial sectors.
The business combines complex project delivery with its own manufacturing capability, producing high-quality, bespoke joinery for some of the most exacting projects in the London market.
Reporting to the Production Director, this newly created position will lead the commercial growth and pre-construction activities of the specialist joinery division. It represents an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven industry professional to build a high-quality forward order book and help shape the division’s continued development.
The Role
- Identify, develop and secure high-value bespoke joinery and fit-out opportunities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and main contractors
- Take ownership of estimating, tender strategy, and commercial positioning
- Evaluate opportunities to ensure commercial viability, appropriate risk, and margin protection
- Develop a sustainable and profitable forward order book
- Provide informed commercial and technical input during the early stages of projects
- Work closely with production, design, and project delivery teams to ensure a coordinated approach
- Support the strategic development and long-term growth of the joinery division
- Establish the commercial foundations required for the successful delivery of complex projects

The Person
- Significant experience within high-end bespoke joinery, specialist fit-out, or a closely related market
- A strong network and established relationships within the London super-prime construction sector
- Proven experience of winning and developing high-value project opportunities
- Strong estimating, pre-construction, and tendering expertise
- Excellent commercial and financial judgement, with a clear understanding of project risk and margin
- Experience of design and build project environments
- A sound understanding of factory-led joinery manufacturing and its relationship with project delivery
- Credible, engaging, and capable of building confidence with sophisticated clients and professional teams
- Commercially ambitious, strategically minded, and motivated by the opportunity to help grow a specialist business
