Position: Head of Commercial, Commercial Manager
Location: Castleford, West Yorkshire
Sector: Industrial Pump Manufacture
Remuneration: Basic likely to be in the £65,000 - £75,000 bracket plus bonus.

Tracing its’ history back to the 1950’s, the Verder Group currently turns over in excess of €550 million, and employs over 2500 people across 50+ sales offices and 20 manufacturing sites.
The Verderflex site in Castleford is the Group’s design, development and manufacturing location for peristaltic pumps which are supplied worldwide via sales offices, distributors and agents. Product sales from the factory are c £12-13 million which equates to £30-40 million in commercial sales to end users (via Verder sales offices or distributors).
The opportunity has now arisen for someone to join their Senior Leadership Team as
Head of Commercial / Commercial Manager
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the position is responsible for the commercial performance and strategic direction of Verderflex. This includes commercial strategy, profitable sales growth, pricing discipline and customer retention with a particular focus on large or complex commercial opportunities.

The role will lead a team of 8/9 people over 4 teams with 4 direct reports – Customer Services, Internal Sales Applications, Product Management and International Distribution.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities can be broken down into 6 categories:

- Systems, Governance and Standards
About You
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject area is preferred
- Proven senior commercial leadership experience within an industrial product environment. Ideally this will be with rotating plant or machines, industrial pumps, motors, generators, actuators, gearboxes or similar equipment
- An appreciation of the applications of industrial equipment
- Able to demonstrate a track record of delivering strong commercial performance, sales growth, margin improvement, forecasting, pipeline management etc
- Experience of the mining & minerals and/or water & wastewater industries is extremely beneficial
- Experience of leading multi-functional teams
- Experience of co-ordinating complex multi-channel and/or multi – country commercial activity
- International experience is essential, and experience of working with international distributors is beneficial
- Good knowledge of CRM and ERP systems; experience of D365 is very much preferred
- Adaptable people management style
- Able to work with key internal and external stakeholders, often on an international basis
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Castleford, West Yorkshire
- Able to travel internationally when required (infrequent)
