EET (Essar Energy Transition) plays a major role in supplying the Northwest and the wider UK with essential fuels. We produce over 16% of the UK’s road fuels, supply key feedstocks to the petrochemical industry, and are investing heavily in low‑carbon energy solutions.

The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for the Head of Commercial Sales & Logistics. This role is responsible for leading the strategic vision and commercial direction of the business, ensuring the development and delivery of sustainable, robust sales pipelines that support long term growth and profitability. Working in alignment with C Suite Members, the successful candidate will drive departmental performance, strengthen the company's brand and reputation within the commercial sales and logistics sectors, and position Essar Oil UK as the supplier of choice in the market. The role will focus on creating and executing strategies that maximise revenue, improve margins, increase market share, and secure a strong and loyal customer base while supporting the continued success and growth of the organisation.

Primary Accountabilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the Commercial Sales and Logistics strategy, driving sustainable growth, market share, profitability and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute channel and business development strategies aligned to refinery capability, market demand and business objectives.
- Manage commercial sales performance and delivered business volumes, optimising logistics solutions and supply chain efficiency to maximise value.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring effective order-to-cash processes, accurate invoicing, timely payment collection and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage business plans, budgets and financial targets, monitoring performance and adapting strategies to respond to changing market conditions.
- Drive digitalisation, automation and innovation initiatives across Commercial Sales and Logistics to improve efficiency, performance and data driven decision making.
- Develop and implement meaningful commercial and operational metrics, providing analytics and insights that support strategic planning and business performance.
- Ensure compliance with all HSSE, quality, audit and governance requirements, promoting best practice and a strong safety culture across the department.
- Lead, develop and inspire high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive cost optimisation and operational efficiencies across commercial, logistics and wider refinery activities.
- Act as budget holder for the Commercial Sales and Logistics function, ensuring effective financial control and delivery of business objectives.
- Support turnaround events, duty rota requirements and business-critical activities, including occasional UK and international travel.

About You
You will be a highly accomplished commercial leader with significant experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams across commercial sales and logistics functions. Educated to degree level and ideally holding an MBA, you will have a proven track record of delivering commercial growth, developing and implementing successful business strategies, and driving sustainable revenue and margin performance. Experience within logistics operations and hazardous goods sales and distribution is essential, along with a strong understanding of UK HSSE compliance requirements, frameworks, and standards relating to the movement and sale of hazardous products. Commercially astute and results-driven, you will possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong IT proficiency, particularly across the Microsoft Office suite, is also required. Formal commercial and logistics qualifications would be advantageous.
