About the Role

We're looking for a Director level Finance Business Partner to join our Journals Publishing team, the largest publishing area within the Press and a key contributor to future growth. Working closely with the VP of Journals and the wider leadership team, you will provide strategic financial partnership, helping to inform decision-making, support business priorities, and ensure sustainable long-term success. This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to contribute across a broad range of financial, operational, and strategic activities.

As the lead finance partner for the Journals business, you will provide financial insight and analysis to support planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making. You will play a central role in budgeting, forecasting, five-year planning, balance sheet and cash flow management, as well as supporting society acquisitions and contract renewals through financial evaluation and modelling. The role also includes overseeing financial reporting for society partnerships, reviewing business performance, identifying trends and opportunities, and ensuring stakeholders have access to timely and meaningful financial information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
