Are you a leader in the Quantity Surveying/ Cost Management profession looking to shape the future of commercial consultancy within the social housing sector and beyond.

Baily Garner LLP, owner of 4i Solutions, is seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial to lead and grow our Commercial & Strategic Cost Management service line, delivering strategic advice to housing associations, local authorities, public sector clients, their Partners and Supply Chains across the UK.

The Opportunity

This is a high-profile leadership role that combines:

  • Strategic commercial leadership and provision of innovative commercial solutions to sector challenges
  • Team development and mentoring
  • Senior client relationship management
  • Business growth and innovation
  • Technical excellence in cost management and commercial assurance

You will lead our Commercial/Strategic Cost Management service, acting as a trusted adviser to clients and their Partners on:

  • Open book target cost models
  • Partnering and collaborative contracts
  • Procurement and commercial governance
  • Risk and value-for-money assessments
  • Contract administration and commercial decision-making
  • Major housing investment, regeneration, repairs and asset management programmes

What We're Looking For

We are interested in experienced commercial leaders with:

  • An excellent communicator and leader
  • A Quantity Surveying or Cost Management background
  • Significant leadership experience within consultancy, client-side, contractor or public sector environments
  • Extensive knowledge of target cost and open-book commercial models
  • Strong social housing sector experience
  • A proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a growing team of Commercial and Cost Management professionals.
  • Engage significantly with our Independent Partnering Advisors and People & Culture pillars
  • Drive service innovation and best practice across the business.
  • Act as the senior commercial lead on key client commissions.
  • Support strategic business development and client retention.
  • Influence major investment decisions affecting thousands of homes across the UK.
  • Support business growth aspirations to develop opportunity outside the social housing sector, in collaboration with other group's within Bail Garner
