Head of Commodities

A leading global business is looking for an exceptional Head of Commodities to lead and shape its commodities proposition.

This is a senior, high-profile appointment for an established commodities professional who has operated at the highest level of the market, most likely as a former Head of Commodities Trading, Head of Oil, Head of Gas or equivalent senior market leadership role.

We are looking for someone with genuine market authority: academically strong, commercially astute, highly articulate and credible in front of senior market participants.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing the commodities offering and establishing the business as an increasingly influential voice across the global commodities community.

You will bring together deep market expertise, strategic thinking and strong communication skills to:

• Lead the commodities strategy, coverage and proposition.
• Act as the senior public face and subject-matter authority for commodities across the business.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior figures across trading, investment, energy, corporates, policymakers and the wider financial community.
• Provide authoritative insight and perspective on the key developments shaping oil, gas and broader commodity markets.
• Work closely with editorial, research, commercial and product teams to ensure the commodities intelligence is differentiated, relevant and commercially valuable.
• Identify emerging themes, market structures and trends that should shape future commodities coverage.
• Represent the business at industry conferences, client events, media engagements and other high-profile market forums.
• Build the organisation's network and profile across the global commodities ecosystem.
• Develop the capabilities, standards and culture of the wider commodities team.
