Beauty Pie - Head of Communications

Beauty Pie has a lot worth talking about. We’re looking for someone brilliant at getting people talking about it.

Reporting to the Marketing Operations Director, our Head of Communications will lead Beauty Pie’s UK communications strategy across PR, influencers, collaborations, and affiliates, building the brand with a focus on delivering meaningful commercial growth.

This is a senior role with real ownership. You’ll be as comfortable building relationships with the UK’s most influential beauty editors as you are spotting the next creator we should know about, interrogating affiliate performance, or negotiating a partnership that delivers for both the brand and the business.

Working closely with the Marketing Operations Director, Founder, and teams across Marketing, you’ll decide where Beauty Pie should show up, who we should be talking to, and what’s worth trying next. You’ll bring the strategic thinking and technical know-how to make that happen, plus enough curiosity to question whether there might be a better way of doing it.

Because in communications, there usually is.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Full-time is preferred, but we’re open to reduced or flexible working for the right person.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in Communications, with a track record of building brands and delivering commercial results.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach and a genuine appetite for ownership. You can set the direction, make the case for it, and get into the detail when required.
  • Strong, established relationships across UK media, particularly with the editors, journalists, and titles that shape beauty and consumer conversations.
  • Proven experience leading influencer strategy across macro, mid, and micro creators, with a clear point of view on who makes sense for a brand, who doesn’t, and how to measure the difference.
  • Affiliate experience and a strong understanding of how the channel contributes to acquisition, revenue, and growth.
  • Experience working closely with and advising a Founder, with the confidence and judgement that requires.
  • Strong agency management experience, including briefing, budget ownership, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is Communications, after all.
  • The ability to think strategically without developing a mysterious allergy to actually doing things.
  • Confidence working at pace, making good decisions when several things require your attention at once, and keeping standards high when deadlines are tight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, paired with enough perspective to know which details really matter.
  • Line management experience and a collaborative, hands-on coaching style. You set a high bar, help people reach it, and give them the space to become better at what they do.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities

  • You'll own Beauty Pie’s UK communications strategy across PR, influencers, collaborations, and affiliates, balancing long-term brand building with commercial growth and aligning activity to our wider business priorities.
  • Build the relationships that matter. You’ll maintain great relationships with editors, journalists, and key media across the UK, making Beauty Pie a company they want to hear from.
  • Lead our influencer strategy across macro, mid, and micro creators, identifying emerging talent, cultivating new communities, and building partnerships that extend our reach and deliver measurable value.
  • Own and evolve our affiliate strategy, identifying the partners with the greatest potential, prioritizing investment, and continually testing smarter ways to grow the channel.
  • Keep experimenting. Brainstorm, test, learn, improve, repeat. We want someone curious about what communications can do, not simply someone interested in repeating what it has always done.
  • Work closely with our Founder on both consumer and business press opportunities, bringing excellent judgement, preparation, and a strong instinct for what makes a story.
  • Bring an international perspective, using your experience of launching brands or businesses in new markets to help inform Beauty Pie’s growth.
  • Partner closely with Performance Marketing, ensuring PR, influencer, and affiliate activity work together rather than occupying separate corners of a spreadsheet, and that each is held to a clear commercial standard.
  • Know what’s working and why. Monitor communications performance across brand and commercial metrics, turning the numbers into useful insights, and regularly sharing performance with the Marketing Operations Director and wider leadership team.
  • Build a brilliant team. You’ll manage two direct reports, one across Communications and one across Affiliates, identifying resourcing needs, and giving them the support, coaching, and autonomy to do their best work.
