Role: Head of Communications
Location: North West
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000
Middlemore are partnering with a leading energy and utilities organisation to appoint a Head of Communications.
This is a high-profile opportunity for an experienced communications leader to shape external reputation, lead engaging internal transformation communications, and act as a trusted adviser to senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead external and internal communications in support of corporate strategy and transformation.
- Build a strong profile across traditional, broadcast, digital and social media.
- Deliver campaigns on strategic customer, energy-transition and ESG issues.
- Create internal communications that build understanding, engagement and adoption through change.
- Partner with Executive Leadership Team members and senior operational leaders on major programmes, partnerships and business priorities.
- Provide trusted, practical communications counsel to senior stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop the internal communications team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Affairs, policy, regulatory and marketing.

About You
- You will bring strong communications experience from energy, utilities or another regulated, customer-facing infrastructure environment. Experience supporting a large operational or field-based workforce would be particularly valuable.
- You will be equally comfortable developing strategy and delivering it personally, writing compelling content, shaping messages, handling media opportunities and leading campaigns.
- You will have a credible track record across both external communications and internal transformation, alongside the gravitas and collaborative style to build trusted senior relationships quickly.

There is a preference for candidates based in the North West, although exceptional candidates willing to travel regularly will be considered.
