Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Head of Communications and Engagement will lead how we connect Enterprise Technology's strategy, priorities and achievements with colleagues and stakeholders across the business. Through compelling storytelling, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, you'll help people understand the value of our work and the impact technology is having on WPP's transformation.

This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, drive engagement across a global technology community, and champion innovative approaches to communications, including the use of AI and emerging technologies. Combining strategic influence with hands-on delivery, you'll play a key role in helping Enterprise Technology build understanding, engagement and advocacy across WPP.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead delivery of Enterprise Technology's communications and engagement strategy, ensuring communications support ET's strategic priorities, align with WPP Communications priorities and contribute to WPP's broader business objectives. Develop integrated communications plans, establish clear measures of success, and use insight and data to continuously improve employee engagement, stakeholder understanding and business impact.
  • Drive engagement, connection and culture across the ET community through compelling storytelling, leadership communications, town halls, employee recognition, communities and innovative engagement approaches. Champion creative communications techniques, industry best practice and emerging technologies, including AI, to create engaging experiences that build participation, understanding and advocacy.
  • Demonstrate the value of ET's transformation to the business through strategic communications and stakeholder engagement. Bring to life Enterprise Technology's contribution across AI, platform modernisation, cyber security, colleague experience, operational excellence and enterprise transformation, translating complex initiatives into clear, relevant and compelling narratives.
  • Lead communications and engagement for major transformation programmes, working closely with programme directors, project managers and change managers to support awareness, understanding and adoption. Provide leadership and governance to Change Communications Managers embedded within programmes through a dotted-line reporting model, ensuring alignment to ET priorities, communications standards and stakeholder engagement objectives.
  • Build strong relationships and communications capability across ET and WPP, acting as a trusted advisor to the ET Leadership Team and Extended Leadership Team. Develop communications assets, frameworks, toolkits and channels that empower leaders and colleagues to communicate effectively, while fostering a connected communications community that promotes consistency, collaboration and best practice.
  • Support ET leaders to tell the Enterprise Technology story externally through approved channels, events, thought leadership and industry engagement, working closely with Group Communications to ensure alignment with WPP communications priorities, governance and reputation objectives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
