Head of Community
London | Hybrid (4 days)
Some businesses spend years trying to build trust. This one already has it.
Over the last few years, they've grown rapidly through reputation, trusted relationships and introductions. They now have a highly engaged global customer base, an exceptional brand and one of the strongest foundations for community-led growth you'll find anywhere.
The opportunity isn't to create a community from scratch. It's to intentionally build what has already started.
To turn trusted relationships into one of the company's biggest commercial growth engines. If you naturally think about advocacy before acquisition, relationships before campaigns and long-term value before short-term engagement, this is a genuinely rare opportunity.
The Opportunity
This isn't an events role. It's a commercial leadership role where community happens to be your biggest lever. You'll define how one of the world's most sophisticated audiences grows over the next five years.
That means deciding:
- How relationships deepen over time.
- How referrals become part of the customer journey.
- Which partnerships strengthen the ecosystem.
- Which experiences genuinely create advocacy.
- Where the business should and shouldn't invest.
- How community contributes to commercial growth.
What You'll Own
- Define and own the global Community strategy.
- Build a community that creates lasting relationships between investors, partners and the business.
- Design programmes that increase advocacy, referrals and long-term customer value.
- Develop strategic partnerships that strengthen the ecosystem and create commercial opportunities.
- Curate exceptional experiences, executive dinners, roundtables and private events where they support a clear commercial objective.
- Decide where the business should invest its time, budget and attention.
- Create a community people actively want to belong to and introduce others into.
- Define how success is measured beyond attendance, focusing on advocacy, relationship strength, referrals, retention and commercial impact.
- Build and evolve the function as the business continues to scale internationally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
We're much less interested in someone who's simply delivered lots of premium events. We're looking for someone who has built relationships at scale and understands how community creates commercial value.
You won't just have managed communities. You'll have intentionally designed them.
We're looking for evidence that you've already engineered behaviours such as:
- advocacy
- referrals
- trusted introductions
- repeat engagement
- long-term loyalty
- strategic partnerships
- network effects
You'll be able to explain what you deliberately changed, why you changed it, and what commercial impact it had.
You'll probably be a great fit if you've already done things like...
- Built a community that became a measurable source of referrals, introductions or commercial growth.
- Deliberately designed programmes that increased advocacy rather than hoping it happened naturally.
- Created environments where members introduced peers, colleagues or friends because the experience was genuinely valuable.
- Used partnerships, thought leadership and curated experiences as part of a wider growth strategy rather than standalone marketing activity.
- Measured success through relationship strength, repeat engagement, referrals, retention or customer lifetime value rather than attendance alone.
- Worked with affluent, luxury or ultra-high-net-worth audiences where trust, discretion and curation were fundamental to success.
- Personally owned the commercial strategy behind community, not simply the execution.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Most importantly, you'll recognise yourself in statements like these:
- I naturally start with the commercial objective before deciding on the experience.
- I think about advocacy, referrals and long-term customer value rather than attendance.
- I've built senior relationships with executives, partners or high-value clients.
- I understand the importance of trust, curation, discretion and relevance.
- I'm comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and making strategic decisions.
- I enjoy building functions rather than simply operating them.
What Success Looks Like
This role isn't measured by how many events you deliver. It's measured by whether community becomes one of the company's most valuable commercial assets.
You'll constantly be asking questions like:
- Why should we invest in this?
- Will this strengthen relationships?
- Will this create advocacy?
- Will this generate trusted introductions?
- Is this the right partner?
- What changes because we've done this?
- How will we know we've been successful?
If that's naturally how you think, we'd love to hear from you.
