Hey! We’re the LTA and we’re pleased to meet you! 👋

The LTA’s vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’ and its mission is to transform communities through tennis by making it welcoming, enjoyable, and inspiring to everyone. We have a similar approach to developing and promoting padel, one of the fastest-growing sports in Britain.

About the Role

The Competitions Team leads the governance, planning, development, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of competition across Britain. Working with colleagues, venues, organisers, officials, and strategic partners, the team creates accessible and high-quality competition opportunities across tennis and padel, whilst overseeing the systems, services, development, and processes that underpin the competition landscape.

This role is responsible for leading the delivery of the LTA Competition Plan 2025-29 and shaping the future of competition in Britain.

The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking and operational delivery, bringing a consultancy-type approach to understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities for innovation, and translating vision into impactful plans and outcomes. Leading and managing the Competition Operations Manager, Competition Delivery Manager, Head of Competition Development, and Competition Measures & Systems Manager, as well as working collaboratively across the business, the role will ensure a joined-up approach across all aspects of competition, helping to build a sustainable ecosystem that meets the needs of players at each age and stage of the pathway.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking leader who is ready to make a significant impact in a senior LTA role. We are seeking someone who combines strategic thinking, strong operational and planning capability, and a customer-centric mindset with the ability to influence and build credibility across a diverse stakeholder landscape. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative and consultancy-style approach to problem-solving, demonstrate sound judgment and commercial awareness, and inspire others through effective leadership. They will be comfortable navigating complexity, challenging the status quo where appropriate, and driving continuous improvement to help shape the future of competition across Britain.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
