Head of Compliance Operations - Property Portfolio/PropTech
Central London | Hybrid + Onsite with clients
£65,000–£85,000 + equity
Our client is building the next-generation property management group - acquiring established businesses and bringing them onto one modern, technology-enabled platform, so their people can spend their time on judgement, relationships and service instead of admin. Backed by leading venture investors, the business has completed multiple acquisitions in its first year and is scaling fast.
Compliance is the part of this industry that has become the heaviest, riskiest and most stressful for the people doing it - and right now, there's no dedicated function running it properly across the group. This is a brand new, standalone role reporting directly to the founders, with real scope to build something from the ground up.

The successful candidate will start hands-on - taking full ownership of every compliance obligation across a single property portfolio: fire risk assessments, electrical testing, the wider building-safety regime, contractor management, remedials, and audit-ready record-keeping.
Once that portfolio is running cleanly, they'll work directly with the technology team to turn what they've built into a repeatable system, then lead rolling it out across every other business in the group, one at a time.
There will be real support - experienced operators, internal legal and outside specialists on hand - but this person will be the first to do this job at the company. As the group grows, the role grows with it, with genuine scope to build and lead a centralised compliance team over time.
What you'll own
- End-to-end compliance for their first portfolio - calendar, contractors, remedials, records
- Designing the SOPs and system logic that will scale across the whole group
- Leading the rollout of that system to every other business as they're brought on
- Group-wide supplier contracts and relationships as volume moves to the centre

Your experience
- Real, hands-on UK leasehold compliance experience - fire safety, electrical/building safety, statutory testing - someone who has done the work themselves, not just overseen it
- Someone who takes ownership of messy, high-stakes areas and doesn't let go until it's under control
- Comfortable with software and systems thinking - excited, not threatened, by turning their own job into a repeatable process
- Someone quickly trusted by teams they've just met - people believe them when they say it's handled
- Ambitious - motivated to fix how compliance is done in this industry, not just run a desk
