About the role
As Head of Compliance, Risk and Assurance, you’ll play a key role in helping Business Stream do the right thing – for our customers, our people and our business.
You’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Data Protection and Assurance frameworks, making sure they’re not just robust on paper, but understood and applied across the business.
Working closely with colleagues at all levels, you’ll help turn regulatory and quality requirements into practical ways of working that deliver fair, transparent and positive outcomes for our customers, while supporting innovation and our continued growth.
You’ll also lead assurance across revenue, wholesale settlement and market data, helping to ensure our billing is accurate, our wholesale costs are correct, and our customers can trust the service we provide.
As a trusted adviser to our senior leadership team and Board, you’ll bring together the bigger picture across risk, compliance and assurance – providing clear insight, constructive challenge and confidence that we’re managing what matters most.
This is a high-profile role with the opportunity to make a real difference. You’ll help shape how we manage risk, meet our regulatory responsibilities and build a culture where doing the right thing is simply how we do business.
About you
You’re an experienced senior leader who knows how to navigate the opportunities and challenges of working in a regulated environment. You’ll bring strong knowledge across risk, compliance, audit and assurance, together with the confidence to challenge constructively, influence at Board and senior leadership level, and build trusted relationships across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
