Head of Compliance
Location: London – Hybrid
Sector: FinTech / Consumer Lending / Financial Services
We are partnering with a high-growth, technology-led financial services business to appoint a Head of Compliance to lead and develop its UK compliance framework.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the business continues to meet its regulatory obligations while supporting ongoing growth, product development and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall compliance framework across the UK business.
- Act as a senior point of contact for regulatory matters and maintain strong relationships with the FCA.
- Provide regulatory advice and challenge to senior leadership, product, operations and commercial teams.
- Oversee regulatory change and ensure relevant requirements are embedded across the business.
- Own and develop compliance policies, procedures, controls and governance.
- Lead compliance monitoring and assurance activity, ensuring identified issues are appropriately remediated.
- Support new products, customer journeys and strategic initiatives from a regulatory perspective.
- Oversee Consumer Duty requirements and broader conduct risk obligations.
- Produce high-quality reporting for executive committees and Board-level stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor and develop the wider Compliance team.
- Work closely with Financial Crime, Risk, Legal, Operations and Internal Audit teams.

Experience Required
- Significant compliance leadership experience within a regulated financial services organisation.
- Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and FCA requirements.
- Experience within fintech, consumer lending, payments, banking or another fast-paced regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Consumer Duty, conduct risk and regulatory governance.
- Previous experience engaging directly with regulators and senior executives.
- Proven ability to build and enhance compliance frameworks in a growing organisation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance commercial objectives with regulatory requirements.
- Previous SMF16 / Compliance Oversight experience would be highly advantageous.
