🚨 Head of Compliance & Regulation | Fintech / Payments

An exciting opportunity has opened for a senior Compliance & Regulatory leader to join a fast-growing fintech operating across international markets.

The role will sit at a senior level within the business, taking ownership of the compliance and regulatory framework while working closely with Product, Payments, Treasury, Engineering and external stakeholders.

The opportunity:

  • Lead and develop the overall compliance and regulatory strategy
  • Manage regulatory engagement, licensing, approvals and reporting across multiple jurisdictions
  • Own frameworks across AML, CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, KYC/KYB and broader financial crime
  • Provide regulatory guidance across payments, cross-border money movement and financial products
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to embed compliance into products, payment flows and internal systems
  • Oversee regulatory relationships with banks, PSPs, acquiring partners and regulators
  • Support the business through regulatory change and expansion into new markets
  • Manage external compliance advisors and service providers
  • Potentially take on MLRO / DPO responsibilities, depending on experience and jurisdiction

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong senior-level experience across compliance, regulation or risk
  • Background within payments, fintech, banking, financial services or a closely related environment
  • Strong understanding of payments regulation and financial crime frameworks
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions
  • Proven experience engaging with regulators, financial institutions, PSPs or similar stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment with a pragmatic approach to compliance
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience across emerging markets, Africa, acquiring, mobile money, crypto/stablecoins or Merchant-of-Record models would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

📍 England-based - the successful individual will need to be based in England to work closely with the FCA and UK regulatory requirements.
