Head of Construction

Location: Hull
Salary: £60K - £80K + Benefits

An established, award-winning offsite construction business is looking to appoint a Head of Construction to lead the delivery of its UK projects. The company designs and manufactures high-quality modular buildings and anti-vandal solutions and delivers full turnkey schemes across sectors such as sports & leisure, education, healthcare, defence and commercial.

They operate a modern manufacturing facility and provide full design, consultation, planning, manufacture, delivery and installation services. Sustainability, quality and long-term client relationships sit at the core of how they work.

The Role – Head of Construction

You will be accountable for the safe, high-quality and efficient delivery of modular construction projects from final factory stages through to on-site installation and handover. You’ll provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all construction activity, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the standards expected.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll be close to live sites, able to step in when projects need intervention, and confident managing multiple schemes at different stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the construction delivery function, ensuring safe, high-quality installation and handover of modular buildings.
  • Oversee multiple live projects concurrently, maintaining clear oversight of programmes, budgets and resource needs.
  • Own client and subcontractor relationships: agree terms, manage performance, resolve issues and protect project outcomes while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Work closely with design, production and project management teams to align final-stage factory activities with on-site delivery plans.
  • Provide decisive leadership when projects go off track: identify root causes, implement corrective actions and drive recovery to programme.
  • Develop, mentor and lead mixed-experience teams—getting the best from seasoned staff while supporting less-experienced colleagues.
  • Introduce and embed practical process improvements that enhance delivery efficiency and quality without unnecessary disruption.
  • Ensure robust compliance with health, safety and quality standards across all construction activities.
  • Report to senior leadership on programme status, risks and opportunities; contribute to planning future construction capacity and capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
