The Alliance is a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. And together, we deliver around 40% of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we progress through AMP8 – our most ambitious asset management period to date – we’re delivering nature-based and sustainable infrastructure, from wetlands to urban drainage schemes, setting new benchmarks for environmental performance.
We are seeking an experienced Head of Construction to lead and inspire our delivery teams across a diverse and complex capital programme. This pivotal leadership role, will oversee the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of both major and minor construction projects, ensuring every build contributes to a sustainable future for our communities and environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, develop and motivate high‑performing construction teams, embedding a culture of collaboration, safety and continuous improvement
- Oversee construction strategy and delivery across multiple complex projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Drive innovation and improved ways of working across the supply chain to enhance safety, quality and efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Anglian Water, Alliance partners and external suppliers
- Lead cost control and resource planning, maximising value and performance across all programmes
- Champion health, safety, wellbeing and environmental excellence, promoting a zero‑accident culture
- Actively promote inclusion, fairness and respect across all teams and partner organisations

Who We're Looking For
About You
You are an accomplished construction leader with a passion for delivering complex infrastructure projects that make a real difference. You’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading large‑scale construction delivery, ideally within water, utilities or wider infrastructure environments
- A strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering processes and project planning
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage multidisciplinary teams
- Experience managing budgets, contracts and senior stakeholder relationships
- A forward‑thinking mindset, open to innovation, collaboration and change
- A valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
