Head of Content
Contract | London
About Plaster
Plaster guides people through the art world. We present the art we love while sharing a clear point of view on the people, ideas and culture around it. We believe contemporary art should feel accessible, relevant and enjoyable.
Our editorial approach is rooted in honesty, humour, personality, quality journalism and a distinctive visual identity. In the art publishing landscape, Plaster offers a unique balance of satire and sincerity in a space where things are often taken a bit too seriously.
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Head of Content to help shape Plaster as a modern art media brand across editorial, social, video, brand partnerships and retail.
The Role
Working closely with the Founders and COO, you will lead Plaster’s content strategy, day-to-day execution and manage a small ambitious team.
You will identify strong art-world stories, create and commission content, manage the publishing calendar and ensure every idea is developed for the right format and audience.
This role requires excellent editorial judgement, deep knowledge of contemporary art, the market, new as well as established artists, and a strong understanding of how content drives reach, engagement and audience growth.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial & Storytelling
- Identify, commission and create original art-world stories that are timely, distinctive and culturally relevant.
- Maintain a strong understanding of artists, galleries, institutions, fairs, curators, collectors and emerging voices.
- Find accessible and unexpected angles within exhibitions, news, personalities, trends and objects.
- Create and edit content across articles, interviews, video, social media and newsletters.
- Balance reactive coverage with original reporting, features, opinion and recurring formats.
- Develop and protect Plaster’s editorial voice: intelligent, stylish, accessible and opinionated.
- Build strong relationships with writers, content creators, artists, curators, galleries and cultural organisations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
