🎯 THE ROLE

As Head of Content & Media, you will be responsible for helping establish and lead the department, working with members and other UKCTAG teams to develop a consistent, professional and credible content strategy. You will help identify opportunities to communicate important CT issues, industry developments and professional insight through a range of media.

Your responsibilities may include:

📚 Content & Thought Leadership

  • Lead the development of articles, opinion pieces and research-based content.

  • Help develop UKCTAG's public-facing Counter Terrorism messaging.
  • Identify new opportunities to increase the organisation's reach and engagement.

👥 Team Leadership

  • Help build and coordinate the Content & Media team.
  • Identify the strengths and interests of team members and utilise them effectively.
  • Allocate and coordinate content projects.
  • Encourage collaboration, discussion and new ideas.
  • Provide direction while creating opportunities for members to develop their own experience and professional profile.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🔎 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We're looking for someone who is credible, proactive and passionate about communication and Counter Terrorism. You don't necessarily need to have held a formal "Head of Department" position before. We're more interested in your experience, ideas, leadership ability and willingness to build something. You may have experience in:

  • Content creation or editorial work
  • Journalism or article writing
  • Podcasting or broadcasting
  • Video production
  • Social media and communications
  • Public relations
  • Public speaking or presenting
  • Security communications
  • Counter Terrorism or security
  • Military, law enforcement or emergency services
  • Managing or leading creative/media teams

Experience in private security, Counter Terrorism, the military, law enforcement, emergency services, or a closely aligned field would be advantageous. The wider Advisory Member specification also emphasises professional knowledge, strong communication, integrity and the ability to contribute meaningfully.

We're looking for someone who can think differently. Someone who can look at an issue and think: "People in our industry need to be talking about this." Someone who can turn professional knowledge and experience into useful, credible and engaging content. Someone who can build a team around them rather than trying to do everything themselves. And someone who wants to help build something that can have a genuine impact on Counter Terrorism awareness and professionalism within the private security sector.

⏱️ COMMITMENT

This is a voluntary, unpaid position. There are no fixed hours or minimum time commitment, with contributions designed to be flexible around individual availability. However, the position does require ongoing engagement and active participation within UKCTAG.

🎁 WHAT YOU'LL GET

This isn't simply an opportunity to add another title to your LinkedIn profile. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape the public voice of UKCTAG.
  • Build and lead a specialist Content & Media function.
  • Work alongside professionals with experience across the security and CT community.
  • Develop your professional profile and credibility.
  • Build your network.
  • Gain experience in leadership, communications and strategic development.
  • Help contribute to a growing Counter Terrorism initiative.

These opportunities align with the wider benefits identified for UKCTAG Advisory Members, including professional profile development, networking and contributing to a growing initiative.
