Head of Content

Crowd Network is one of the UK's fastest-growing podcast and digital content companies, creating original and branded content with some of the biggest names in sport, entertainment and business.

Our portfolio includes award-winning podcasts, YouTube channels and social content, alongside commercially-driven productions for leading brands. As we continue to expand our network of original sports shows and develop new digital brands, we are looking for an experienced Head of Content to play a key leadership role within the business.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a senior leadership position responsible for helping shape and deliver Crowd's content strategy across our growing portfolio of original and branded shows.

Working closely with the Content Director, you will provide strategic guidance to production teams, support the development and launch of new content brands, and help ensure our shows achieve audience growth across audio, video and social platforms.

The role is particularly focused on expanding Crowd's presence in sport, with responsibility for helping launch and scale new sports media brands, developing our YouTube strategy, and working alongside some of the biggest names in sport.

You will be expected to bring significant experience from the sports media and digital content industry, combining editorial judgement, commercial awareness and audience growth expertise.

Content Leadership

  • Support the Content Director in defining and implementing Crowd's content strategy.
  • Provide editorial leadership and strategic guidance across original and branded productions.
  • Work directly with programme teams to develop content plans, audience strategies and growth initiatives.
  • Establish best practice across podcast, video and social production.
  • Mentor and develop producers, editors and creative teams across the business.

New Show Development & Launch

  • Lead the development and launch of new sports content brands and channels.
  • Create launch strategies that maximise audience acquisition and long-term growth.
  • Work with production teams to define formats, content pillars, talent strategy and distribution plans.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing brands into new platforms and territories.

YouTube & Audience Growth

  • Lead Crowd's YouTube content strategy across the network.
  • Develop frameworks for audience growth, retention and engagement.
  • Work with teams on content optimisation, programming, thumbnails, packaging and channel development.
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue and audience through video-first content initiatives.

Talent & Editorial Management

  • Build strong relationships with high-profile presenters, athletes, broadcasters and rights holders.
  • Support talent in developing compelling content formats and digital audiences.
  • Ensure editorial quality and consistency across the portfolio. Help identify and recruit new talent and content opportunities.

Commercial & Brand Partnerships

  • Work closely with commercial teams to develop creative sponsorship and branded content opportunities.
  • Help shape content-led partnership proposals and integrated campaigns.
  • Ensure commercial integrations are authentic, effective and audience-focused.
  • Support the successful delivery of sponsorship campaigns across audio, video and social channels.

Industry & Market Development

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in sports media, digital publishing, YouTube and creator-led content.
  • Identify opportunities for new content verticals, audience segments and platform expansion.
  • Provide strategic insight to support Crowd's long-term growth ambitions.

ABOUT YOU

  • Significant senior-level experience within sports media, digital publishing, content production or creator-led media businesses.
  • Proven track record of launching and growing successful digital content brands.
  • Extensive experience developing content strategies across podcast, video and social platforms.
  • Strong understanding of YouTube audience growth, programming and channel development.
  • Experience working with high-profile sports talent, presenters and athletes.
  • Experience managing creative teams and leading content development projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting branded content and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Excellent editorial judgement and storytelling skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

The salary for the role is £65,000 - £75,000 dependent on experience.
