Head of Contracts

Reporting into the Account Director, the Head of Contracts will be responsible for leading the management, negotiation, and execution of service contracts and minor works projects. A key part of this role is the effective leadership and development of a team of contract managers, ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and assistance required to deliver high-quality contract management across the organisation.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in the Pirin Court office 2-3 days per week.

This role is offered on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract basis.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Contract Managers, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Take full ownership of contract financial performance, including budgets, forecasts and delivery of financial targets.
  • Oversee the negotiation, administration and management of service contracts and minor works agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts achieve agreed SLAs, KPIs and commercial objectives.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex contractual issues, disputes and service performance concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company governance requirements, including health & safety and procurement standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key internal stakeholders.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, driving contract performance, cost efficiency and operational excellence.

Who you are:

You are an experienced Contract Management leader with a strong commercial mindset, proven ability to manage high-value contracts, and a track record of delivering financial performance, compliance and operational excellence with proven experience in leading and managing a team of contract managers, ideally in a maintenance, facilities management, or minor works environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong commercial acumen with the experience to drive value, efficiencies, and continuous improvement.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the experience to engage at all levels.
  • Extensive experience in contract management.
  • Experience in customer and stakeholder management, ensuring contracts deliver value and performance.
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements, including health & safety, building regulations, and procurement law.
