Head of Conveyancing
Birmingham | Hybrid | 3 days office-based

TSR Legal are pleased to be working exclusively with a well-established and highly regarded law firm on a newly created Head of Conveyancing opportunity in Birmingham. This is a confidential appointment and is not currently being advertised, making this a particularly good opportunity for an experienced conveyancing leader to have an early conversation.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading and developing the conveyancing function, providing strategic direction while maintaining a strong focus on service, quality, compliance and commercial performance.
The Role
You will play a key leadership role within the firm, overseeing the day-to-day operation and continued development of the conveyancing department. The role would suit an experienced Head of Department, Conveyancing Manager, Team Leader or senior fee earner who is ready to take the next step into a broader leadership position.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing the conveyancing team
- Overseeing caseloads, workflows, performance and operational standards
- Supporting and mentoring fee earners and wider conveyancing staff
- Driving high levels of client service and ensuring a consistently positive client experience
- Monitoring departmental performance against targets and KPIs
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of the team
- Ensuring compliance, risk management and quality standards are maintained
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and profitability
- Working closely with senior management and other departments across the firm
- Playing an active role in the continued growth and development of the conveyancing offering

About You
I am keen to speak with experienced conveyancing professionals who have:
- Strong residential conveyancing experience
- Previous management or team leadership experience
- A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of conveyancing risk and compliance
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A commercial and solutions-focused approach
- The confidence to take ownership of a department and contribute at a senior level
