Head of Communications Europe

Multi-brand consumer business with a significant international footprint is seeking an experienced Head of Communications Europe to lead and evolve its external communications strategy across the region.

Hybrid working is 3 days a week on site with monthly travel within Europe.

This is a high-profile role responsible for strengthening reputation, building visibility and driving engagement across multiple markets. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded communications leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and enjoys creating opportunities to tell compelling stories.

Working across both corporate and consumer news, this role goes beyond traditional media relations. We are looking for someone with a strong track record of developing proactive PR programmes, shaping social media strategy and identifying innovative ways to elevate brand and leadership visibility across Europe. The successful candidate will be expected to think big, challenge conventions and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an integrated communications strategy across the Europe region.
  • Create proactive PR campaigns that enhance reputation, support commercial objectives and generate meaningful media coverage.
  • Lead executive profiling and thought leadership programmes for senior leadership.
  • Shape and drive social media strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and strong audience engagement.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with media, industry commentators and key external stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging trends, issues and opportunities to position the business ahead of competitors.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leadership and act as a trusted advisor on reputation management.
  • Manage team, agency relationships and communications budgets across the region.
  • Support crisis and issues management activity when required.

About You

  • Significant experience leading communications function and teams within a complex international consumer organisation - travel, leisure or hospitality ideal.
  • Strong network across business, consumer and trade media.
  • Proven success developing proactive PR strategies that deliver measurable impact.
  • Experience leading social media strategy and executive visibility programmes.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to align communications activity to wider business goals.
  • Confident working with senior executives and influencing stakeholders at leadership level.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial and comfortable operating across multiple international market.
