Head of Creative & Digital Experience

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to South Yorkshire (approximately quarterly)
Salary: Up to £75k DOE
Position: Permanent, Full Time

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Creative & Digital Experience to join our client’s Marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Director, you’ll provide senior creative and strategic leadership across content, brand, website, email and design, leading a multidisciplinary team and shaping how the brand engages customers across the full journey.

You’ll turn marketing strategy and customer insight into big creative ideas, compelling campaigns and digital experiences that drive awareness, engagement and commercial results. Working closely with Programme Marketing, you’ll shape and challenge briefs from the outset and lead specialists and external partners to bring ideas to life.

The Role

  • Act as the senior creative voice in Marketing, shaping the creative idea, proposition and messaging behind major campaigns and launches.
  • Partner with Programme Marketing from brief through to delivery, challenging and sharpening thinking rather than simply executing.
  • Own the quality and consistency of the customer experience across website, email, content, social and paid channels.
  • Set the strategic direction for content, messaging, brand and storytelling across campaigns, thought leadership, video and lead generation.
  • Lead the website as a core commercial channel, including SEO, content, CRO and customer experience, and set the standard for email and lifecycle communications.
  • Ensure marketing operates as an effective always-on engine, balancing campaigns with ongoing content, organic search, social and lifecycle activity.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a multidisciplinary team across creative, content, digital, website and email.
  • Build strong partnerships with Programme Marketing and manage agencies, freelancers and production partners where required.
  • Embed a customer-led, data-informed and test-and-learn approach to creative and digital activity.
  • Bring structure, pace and high creative standards to a growing and evolving environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • A proven track record of turning customer and commercial challenges into distinctive creative ideas that drive response.
  • Strong agency experience, either agency-side or client-side with significant experience commissioning, directing and challenging agencies.
  • Genuine creative vision combined with strong marketing strategy, able to shape audiences, propositions, positioning and go-to-market plans.
  • Broad digital marketing knowledge across website, CRM/email, content, SEO, social, paid, brand and CRO — with the confidence to lead specialists without needing to be the technical expert.
  • Experience developing and delivering integrated, multi-channel and always-on campaigns across the customer journey.
  • Strong commercial acumen, focused on outcomes rather than outputs, with an understanding of acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention and revenue.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary creative, content or digital teams, ideally in an environment where you have built or evolved the function rather than inherited a fully mature structure.
  • The confidence and credibility to pitch and sell creative vision to senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • EdTech or education technology experience, or experience marketing to schools, trusts/MATs or education leaders.
  • B2B SaaS, subscription or digital platform experience across B2B and/or B2C environments, including experimentation, personalisation and conversion optimisation.
  • We’re particularly interested in candidates who have either moved from agency into an in-house leadership role, bringing agency discipline with them, or have substantial client-side experience working closely with and directing agencies.

The Opportunity

For the top end of the salary range, we’re looking for a creative leader who combines agency-standard polish with genuine strategic vision — someone who has shaped brand-led campaigns and content strategies, led multidisciplinary teams and thrives in ambiguity and change, ideally within EdTech, SaaS or another fast-paced, digitally led environment.
