Head of Credit Risk

London, Hybrid

About us

At Lenkie, we're on a mission to help small businesses turn their bold ambitions into reality. Our lending products make access to capital faster, fairer, and more flexible, enabling SMEs to grow with confidence. We’ve provided hundreds of millions in funding to hundreds of UK businesses with our loan book growing 4x last year, and we’re just getting started.

We are a friendly and collaborative team with a fast-paced and high-performing culture, backed by top-tier investors. We are headquartered in London but with team members across Nigeria, South Africa, and London.

About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Credit Risk. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for how we evaluate, price, and manage credit risk across the customer lifecycle. You’ll lead our credit risk team, own our credit policies and portfolio monitoring, and work closely with Product, Commercial, Data, Technology, and Collections to continuously improve how we lend. Your expertise and strategic vision will drive the success of our credit operations and contribute to the long-term growth of the organisation.

Previous experience managing credit risk within a lending fintech is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Credit risk strategy

  • Develop and evolve Lenkie’s credit risk strategy, policies, and underwriting framework.
  • Define credit risk appetite, lending criteria, portfolio limits, and key risk indicators.
  • Balance credit performance with growth, optimising risk-adjusted returns.
  • Assess new products, customer segments, and opportunities to responsibly expand credit appetite.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
