Head of Credit | Bridging & Development Finance | Hybrid/Remote | Competitive Salary DOE
Take full ownership of a lending lifecycle - from first credit decision through to redemption - and build the operational engine behind it.
About the Company
Our client is a specialist property lender providing bridging and development finance from £100,000 to £5 million across the UK, covering both residential and commercial opportunities. Privately owned and led by accessible, hands-on decision-makers, they have built a strong reputation for speed, flexibility and a genuinely personal service to brokers and borrowers alike. As the business continues to grow, they are strengthening their leadership team with the appointment of a Head of Credit.
About the Role
The quality of every lending decision depends on how consistently it is executed - through completion, ongoing loan management and eventual redemption. This newly-shaped Head of Credit role sits at the centre of that process, combining credit leadership with full ownership of lending operations. You will assess, structure and approve lending within policy and risk appetite, oversee the live loan book, and drive the systems, processes and people that support a scalable, high-performing lending function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
