Head of Curriculum & Quality

Adult Education & Skills Service | Greater London | £450-£500 per day | November Start

We are supporting an ambitious Adult Education & Skills service in Greater London to appoint an experienced Head of Curriculum & Quality on an initial contract through to March 2027, with scope for extension.

This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong background in adult learning, further education, skills, apprenticeships or community learning, who is passionate about improving outcomes for learners and driving excellence across curriculum and quality.

The Role

You will provide strategic leadership across curriculum and quality, leading a team of two Curriculum Managers, while driving innovation, performance and continuous improvement across a multi-site adult learning service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and growth of the adult learning curriculum.
  • Ensuring provision aligns with local, regional and national skills priorities.
  • Driving improvements in learner achievement, retention, attendance and progression.
  • Leading self-assessment, quality improvement planning and quality assurance activity.
  • Acting as the lead for Ofsted readiness and serving as Ofsted Nominee during inspection.
  • Building and strengthening partnerships with employers, community organisations, education providers and key stakeholders.
  • Identifying and securing funding opportunities to support service growth.
  • Supporting and developing curriculum and quality teams to deliver outstanding outcomes for learners.
  • Supporting the effective management of significant education funding and staffing budgets.

About You

We are looking for a senior leader who can demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within adult education, further education, community learning or a related sector.
  • A strong track record of curriculum development, innovation and service growth.
  • Experience leading quality improvement and driving outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted, self-assessment processes and quality frameworks.
  • Experience of developing successful partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of adult education funding and performance requirements.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and degree-level qualification.
