MCS Group is partnering with an established enterprise software company that is looking for a senior customer operations leader to take ownership of its global Customer Support and Professional Services functions.
The business has a loyal international customer base, mission-critical products and significant backing for its next phase of growth. As the Head of Support and Professional Services, you will assess the current operating model and build the structure, processes, metrics and technology needed to create a more scalable and consistent customer organisation.
A major part of the role will be exploring how AI and automation can improve the customer experience, from ticket triage and knowledge management through to self-service, documentation and service delivery.
What You Will Lead
- Set the strategy for global Customer Support and Professional Services.
- Review the current team structure, processes, systems and performance.
- Build a practical roadmap for improving service quality, efficiency and scalability.
- Introduce clear workflows across case management, escalations, SLAs, knowledge management and project delivery.
- Establish meaningful KPIs covering areas such as response times, resolution times, backlog, customer satisfaction, utilisation and project margin.
- Identify and implement practical AI and automation opportunities.
- Lead and develop managers and teams working across multiple countries and time zones.
- Oversee customer implementations, key engagements and critical escalations.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Finance to address recurring issues and align capacity with customer demand.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning and the commercial performance of the services function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
